has someone tried to remove the spare wheel (reduce weight) and see if that helps in getting a perceptible & better response ?

should not be a big deal being in the city and on tubeless tyres.

Next would be "reduce your weight" Very Happy . It has two fold advantage.

In the Indian context, I wouldn't risk driving without a spare wheel. Tubeless tyres are better than the tubed, but anything can go wrong.

Fuel price hike will make a hole in my pocket of 300-400 bucks per month only. I wouln't care too much about it.

totally agree my friend. a few kgs off the car (easy to do) and a few more off myself (this has been a constant struggle post marriage) ..
should make things much better Smile

my point was not about fuel consumption but making the car a little more peppy at lower gears / lower rpms.

My mistake sorry Smile. There are sets available in the euro market to boost the torque and power a bit, even for the petrol 1.2 HTP. I am eyeing one. Need the right person to direct.

Friends! A/C is the greatest power sucker and loads the engine equal to at leat two adult passengers with an average weight of 65Kgs. Would like to share an observation on my 1.4TDI, On red lights when I switch off the A/C, the fuel consumption lowers from 1.1L/hr to 0.7L/hr. Hence with minus this load, you may get the pep required on startups.
