Hi Pals,
I possess a Fabia 1.4 TDI and now want to fit rear speakers.

Can anyone please suggest me a good pair of speakers (make & model) for rear door and what size speakers would fit into it and also about the cost attached.

Is it ok to get the speakers fitted from any assessories shop or from the dealer, will it affect the electrical warranty?

I live in Mumbai.

Please suggest.

Thanks,
Kamal

Here is the bill for the rear speakers that I got installed at the Skoda service centre.

http://fabiaownersclub.s2.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=16&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=120

You first have to check if the pins (connectors) in the HU are available for the rear or not. My guess is not. In which case you will have to buy them from Skoda. This is required to avoid shoddy wire work.

Check if service centre is willing to install non Skoda speakers.

Hi Guys
Getting delivery of my Fab in 2-3 days. Payment has been already done and registration process just started.

I havent been able to get any reduction in any price anywhere (jncluding depot handling charges of 4k). however the dealer has agreed to fit the accessories for me even if i dont get it from him.

I plan to get rear speakers and rear parking sensors fitted. The dealer has said that their listed accessory is JBL GT5 S265. My doubt is that I read that the impedance is 4 ohms for these speakers, so will they work fine with the standard HU or do I need to shell out more for an amp.

A quick response will be great!!

Got delivery of my Fabia Elegance Capuccino Beige.

Can anyone help me in determining if the Beat Audio system can support rear speakers (in addition to 2 front speakers and 2 tweeters)?

I have dropped a query for this issue on Skoda website which was referred to the dealer, which has gone unanswered for 3 days.

Thinking of adding speakers in Rear Door.
Any idea which is best brand with specifications who have installed it outside skoda service.
Skoda service engineer told the wirings they sell are procured from local market and asked me to get it from local shops.
What would be the cost of adding the rear speakers.
Also planning to get the new one installed in front and move the OEM Skoda to rear.
Any thoughts.

I also got speakers installed in the rear doors.

Surprisingly, Skoda has not even provided wiring for the rear doors.

Please donot waste money on getting the wiring done from Skoda A.S.S.

Its not much of an effort, technically.

I got this speaker as a FOC accessory while i bought my car, i think its JBL CS 5 and this was installed by some third party vendor @ Skoda.

I have one question, i am planning to change my audio system, how much can i expect for my old audio system while i exchange for another audio system, i presently have the Beat audio system from skoda.(new fabia 2011 elegance model)

I too heard that there is no wiring provision for the new model. I also heard that there are no provision for pins as well to accommodate wiring for rear speakers.

How did it work for guys who have installed the rear speakers?

I too have rear speakers and I feel that tweeters are required. There is place for tweeters in the door pad I guess. I didn't go for it (because I wasn't aware of it back then Smile ). keep us posted.

Hi Robin,

I did check in skoda service center and they initially said its a dummy place you cannot fix speakers then in the second version of my conversation they admitted they cannot get tweeters.., i did check in JC road and other places but could not find a suitable tweeter, i did post it over other forums but did not get the appropriate reply from where i could buy. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/228631-speaker-question/unread/

Please do let me know if you can get a hold of the tweeter and price.

Regards
Santosh

I Suggest everyone to look into this link, i could not go in detail but there are speakers specific to skoda fabia, though the models year post 2000 is not mentioned, but i do not think any considerable changes are done wrt to speaker hosing.

Can anyone suggest which tweeter could be bought.

I could not resist myself and opened the audio system and found that this one does not support rear speakers, reason why i say this is, when i got my car the speakers were fit by the dealer and i see that the dealer has cut the existing speaker wire(I.E: front speakers wire) and has done this, now when i went to get the tweeters fixed pioneer TS-120 @JC road one of the electrician/audio specialists explained that with the existing set of speakers its on full load and any additional fitting may ruin the head unit so i refrained form doing so. now, the only option is to get a new head unit and use the existing speakers and an tweeter, can anyone tell how much did they shell out for an audio system and how what is the exchange price of the beat audio system.Model : 5JD035152 9B9

Or else take the risk of adding another tweeter to the set of 6 speakers.
