Dear Fabiosi,
The Admin team have created a new section for all photographers and photo enthusiasts to share captures taken by their 3rd eye - the Camera. Whatever your photograph may be, you can share them here and also educate anyone who'd like t learn anything about photography.
A separate thread will be opened for discussing photographic equipments, etc, so 'please' keep this thread for displaying and sharing your photographs only.
Note: It is important that we maintain a decent environment for all forum members, so towards that requirement, the admin team requests all users NOT TO post any photos that are violent or disturbing in nature, any photos that depict pornography or nudity, etc. Any posts found to violate this rule will be removed by the admin team immediately and repeated instances by the member will result in a BAN from the forum. Thanks for your cooperation. _________________ Peace precedes Prosperity.. |

To start this thread off with, I'm posting some photos I'd taken from early 2006 until now. Photography is one of my hobbies and I am constantly trying to get better as a photographer.
Please note, I'm not even an amateur photographer, I'm just a student of photography, trying to learn and understand the art. I appreciate your comments and feedback for the images here. Thanks for stopping by.
The Beautiful evening Sky
The Horse Ride - Motion Blur
Pretty-as-a-Parrot
Hari the Potter puttar ka Kamaal
The Sun, The Sand and The Horizon. Simply slip into it.
A Sea of Colors.
The Country's National Bird. Striking a Pose; in Turquoise.
Seen a Sitting Duck [outside of office, lol]??
My Ex-Bike [Buller Machismo 350 Std]
That's all I have for now. Will share more later.
Cheers

I would give my right hand to become a 'not even an amateur photographer' like you. These are some pretty amazing shots and i loved the 'Black Thumper'.
Will be posting a few pictures that i have taken with a simple point and shoot camera. Will await your comments on them.
Cheers,

Dude, you are not lonely out there. I also belong to the same category. Ajay has been pushing me for photography lectures so that I can click some good pics on my Bangalore-Leh trip. Lets see who wins . |

RM,
Haha.. I truly mean and stand by what I've said. These photos may appear to be nice, but they're far from being a good photo. Ask the photo experts if you don't believe me.
Though I'd think the Parrot's photo has come close to being a good photo, exposure and composition wise. Otherwise, all are just or below average, honestly.
Robin,
It would be a crying shame not to take mouth watering photos after going to Leh, simply because you didn't learn to shoot great photos. Leh Ladakh are full of landscape photography opportunities and I'd give an arm and leg to be well equipped to take brilliant photos when I go there. Seriously, you need a crash course for the basics and a good DSLr camera
Some more snaps for all your comments...
First Snow fall of my life. Unforgettable experience.
Sea & Sunrise - Purrfect breakfast moment
Another Parrot; caught during it's lunch.
Majestic beyond words. First mountain + snow capture.
Going Downstream. Snapped in Manali, HP. Though nowhere close to being a good photo, I consider the composition one of the best I've taken.
I must say none of the photos are post-processed and they're displayed, as they'd been taken. I don't know if that's good or bad, but truth be told, I am no expert in making the pics look better via Post production. Somehow, I prefer they be taken as naturally as they can, and be reproduced to the best one can.
Though I won't deny that I'll try post production on my photos when I learn how to do them effectively.. Appreciate your comments.
Thanks.

AK,
Modesty. Sterling virtue. Experts, critics et al can find flaws all they like but for a common man like me, looking at all the pics that you have taken, i believe they are mighty fine. I dont believe in the 'Plastic surgery' on the pics too much too. Neither do i know how to.
Keep those amazing pictures coming. Some of those shots are stunning.

Haha RM.. Nothing in being modest or such. Anyway, I accept your compliments and happy to see someone agree my the photos above look nice.
And you can add 'common men like us' since I'm no pro or expert either.
About your photos, they look nice and detailed for a simple Point and shoot camera. But further analysis reveals:
1. You have or have had too many point and shoot cameras [LOL].
2. Fuji certainly make good quality P&S cameras since the snaps taken by Fuji stand out.
3. I simply love the 3rd pic, that of the beach @ Canada. If you have a large format of that pic, please email it over to me so I can have it as my wallpaper. You can also put your email at the bottom so I'll always know who gave it to me . To speak like an expert, nothing per se is amazing in this picture, but as a common photographer, I love the simplicity of the subject, about correct lighting and exposure and how effortlessly it's come out right from a point & shoot camera. Simply cool, rm.
4. The Kerala cochin photo needed a bit more lighting, probably you could have adjusted the ISO speed, but of course, if your camera allowed you to.
5. The snow @ Ohio photo seems a wee bit overexposed [think it needs a little more contrast] and I love the pic of the truck. Well shot and completely covered..
I think you might love to upgrade to a beginner DSLR too if you are serious about photography hobby. I'm going to upgrade to a Canon EOS 500D or 550D if I can, and also learn the basics formally, so I expect I can take better photographs in the later months to come...
Do you have all these P&S cameras still with you? You got 5? If you do, you are mad.. lol..
Keep posting buddy.

aK,
My wife calls me by the same name too, with a capital M.
Thanks for your comments on the pictures. I use the very picture that you asked for as my Desktop wallpaper too. Will surely send across the original.
Its not just those, i have more. All these the old school film ones. 2 Polaroids, 2 Yashica's, a Samsung and a brilliant Nikon.
Raving, lunatic for sure.
Cheers,

RM,
Guaranteed, you are mad. lol.. So many cams, you must be an artifact collector.
Anyway, yes, I'd like that picture and I won't be surprised to see many others asking for it too when they see that beach pic [I wish I click something worthy like that sometime soon, though I cannot visit Canada for it, lol].
So which Nikon do you have? Why not post the other pics too? Waiting to see what other great pics you have. And to top it all, you were tripping on me saying you'd give an arm to take pics like me..
Yeah right!!

Ahhh..some photography lovers here..Well, birds of same feather flock together, don't they? Photography is one of my passion and i'm in the process of learning it. I'm sharing some of mine and would add more during the course..
I began my digital photography with a Nikon Coolpix 4200, then moved onto Canon S3 IS and currently I'm using a Sony DSC-H50, Planning to upgrade to an SLR by August/ September.

the roads were lovely, wide and unending.. NH 7 after Valliyoor (en route to Thirunelveli)
munnar
cheeyapara waterfalls en route to munnar
this used to be scenery all around kerala once upon a time
rain rain come again
early morning at Kuttanad backwater
sunset in Kuttanad
having 'head weight'?????
got her finally..
another day winds down as the sun merges with the ocean
and i had (nautical) miles to row before i sleep

I am impressed. I would love to someday take shots like those. The day i learn to do so. I will go and get myself a really good camera. I bet i will get thrown out of my house in the process.
Thanks once again for some incredible images. Kerala is so incredibly beautiful.
Cheers,

aK,
More of a junk collector as someone very closely associated with me says. The Nikon is an old school 150 ED. I dont even know where it is now. But it did give some excellent results.
Some more random pictures
Tried to capture the rainbow @ Niagara.
Polar Bear @ Cincinnati Zoo
A close relative @ Cincinnati Zoo
Bird
Tulips, Canada.

Some from my side. These were snapped by my wife yesterday. We were travelling on Hosur road when I saw this from the other side of the road in the GM showroom. Initially it looked like Corvette.

It looks more like the Camaro to me. Here is a pic of yours sincerely with a Corvette.
Your wife is great with a cam too. Runs in the family it seems.

RM, I think in your first reply to Camaro pic posted by 'Admin', that's Robin. My wife hardly takes photos but she's slowly picking up the interest.. So much so, that she's already asking me for a P&S camera now...
Robin,
Wow. Lucky you got to see the Camaro yesterday. That, btw, is a special edition and it's the 'Transformers Edition'; this car was the 'Bumble Bee' , a protector Autobot. I'm surprised GM has consider India for sales of this car too. Excellent move by GM; I think 82 lakhs is a bit overpriced but well worth. It's a super revving car.
