I have this peculiar problem from the day that i picked up the car. Never thought about complaining since in Hyderabad i don's listen to the radio too often. I have the stock H.C.U.

The problem is with two stations Radio Mirchi and Red FM. I have used the Auto tuning options to tune the stations and the tuner keeps skipping between these two stations intermittently.

So when you would be listening to a number on Mirchi it would just jump to Red and then vice-versa. Also this does not happen only when i am driving. Even when the car is at a standstill the results are the same.

Has anyone else faced a similar problem anywhere, especially folks who drive Fabi's in Hyderabad?

Hi Robin,
I guess you are in scan mode all the time and that is why it is skipping between different channels and you have only two available. I have once observed the same when my friend was playing on the system and he himself corrected it. I was driving and I didn't tried this again Smile ..
Cheers,
Ajith.

Ah.. It is RM and not me Smile.
I thought 'scan' mode worked only for CDs. Never used it in radio mode. Will have to go through the radio manual again. It is good that they have provided it in a separate booklet (I like that).

As Robin corrected its Rohit. But maybe i stated it wrong. See the thing is that the stations are already tuned using the Automatic scan feature and stored. So i see the names of the stations assigned to the buttons.

But what happens is that if i press the Red FM button, it starts playing the Red FM channel and all of a sudden will skip to the Mirchi frequency and then after some time will revert back to Red and so on.

So suddenly from hearing a language that i understand i go to something that i have no clue of and this cycle continues. And as i had mentioned in my first post, it does not matter whether the vehicle is stationary or moving. And its only between these two channels. The other channels are just fine.

RM,

Truly a strange problem I've never heard before. Also, what mystifies it further is that it happens only between 2 channels.

Are the 2 channels' frequencies very close to each other? like 82.5 and 82.7? Maybe a dumb Q but just wanted to see if it was so..

aK,

I know its really queer and its not a dumb Q at all. I had thought of the same too and had checked the frequencies for just these two stations. And it isint the case.

Red FM is on 93.5 whereas Mirchi is on 98.3. Thats quite a gap between them.

Do you think i need to test the patience (or mine Wink ) and services of the Skoda A.S.S once again

First Congrats on touching 100 in a quick time.
May be there is a problem in the push switch which may may be engaging on slight vibration , should be a mechanical issue with the switch /button.

Thanks for the same. I never noticed the fact till you pointed it out. I think i understand what you are saying and will test it out. I will manually store two other stations on the buttons where these two troublesome ones are located and see if the problem persists.

Will keep you posted.

Thanks again.
