Looking at the bifercation, it seems that you have been charged less for Engine Oil. Normally they are charging around Rs. 4000/- only for Oil change here in Delhi.

The recomended oil costs around 900 per lit. and it requires approx 4 litres. So it should be around Rs 3600. It seems you have been charged for semi-synthetic oil instead of synthetic oil. Rest seems okay.

Prices in Bangalore could be high due to taxes.
I paid Rs.800/L for the oil.
750 could be possible in Surat due to no octroi charged in the State.

First Servicing done for Fabia Diesel Ambiente today --
Cost came less than I expected as I have not driven the car more than 2500 kms.
Break up as below=
Filter element = 375
Windscreen Wash = 89.5
Consumable = 133.5
Disel plus 5W30->= 511.22X4= 2044.87
Labour= 60

Total == 3147/=

I was told that from last 2 months all the service charges are being entered in an online portal by respective service centers. Which Skoda India and also customers can actually see? This may be after the negative barrage from Team Bhp .

Earlier all charges were at Service centers and maintained offline.
Any way I am impressed with the quality of work done.
I also went thru the workshop @ Vinayaka and had a firsthand experience about their service.

It seems Skoda is finally making efforts to solve the poor A.S.S isuue.
I too found Vinayak better than Tafe.

@orionph05: How can we see our reports online? Can you throw some light.

I spoke with Ms. Ashwinie Thakre in customer relations in Aurangabad plant and threw my concerns over the service issues to her.

Honestly speaking I was left quite dissappointed after speaking to her as she was not having any answers to the questions I threw at her.

According to her the spare part prices are not likely to come down even after the localization.

We caanot see these reports online at our end as these reports are generated for their internal assesment.

Also there was no strong statement from her to convince me that Skoda is making any effort to improve their services.

Let us see how the things unfold in the near future.

Hello Friends,

Got my Fabia diesel serviced today which had done 7100 kms. Following is the detail of the bill:

Engine Oil --- 3.8l @ 728.00/l = 2766.40

Filter Element --- = 375

Windscreen Shampoo = 89.00

Total inclusive of tax = 3766/-

Earlier they charged me for 4.2l of Oil and after raising questions I was charged for 3.8l. Savings of Rs. 330.00 Laughing

All in all a decent experiance.

I took the car to the serice station for some minor repairs.

1. Noise from the left ball joint area. Apparently, a stone was the culprit. They cleaned the brakes. The noise is gone now. Labour cost: Rs 386
2. Door alignment to remove rattle noise from doorpads. FOC under warranty.
3. Free wash and vaccum cleaning Smile.

Service done at Vinayak, Bangalore.

Admin - Glad to know that you are in Bangalore. I am almost ready to take my 1.2 ltr HTP for its first service to TAFE on Hosur road. It has clocked nearly 9600 kms. Is there a watchout list for service schedules with these dealers? Also, do u need to watch real close if the service is free except consumables?

It will be helpful to get some info by this weekend or early next.

Thanks.

Welcome Kartik!
If it is just a normal service, I don't see any major issue. Total cost should be close to 5K, most of it for engine oil. There should be no labour cost in the bill. Avoid (at any cost) getting wheel alignment and balancing done there. They don't do a good job of it, plus charge a lot more. Independent shops are better, and there are some good ones in Bangalore.

Isn't the service interval 15000 kms? Anyway, not a bad idea to get the first service done early.

Hi,

The Skoda salesman told me that for servicing, they take away the car from doorstep and then bring it back after servicing along with the bill.

I have few queries regarding this:
Do you guys let the servicemen themselves take away your car for servicing ?
How much time does the service center take to complete the service and return car to you?
Does skoda service centers allow us to take vehicle for servicing to the service center and stay with the vehicle when it is getting serviced, just to keep an eye on what they are doing ?

They do and they charge for it too. But keep in mind that the drivers are on contract and they drive like hooligans, so better not to avail it.

They don't allow you in the service area, mostly for safety reason. If your SA is pally , he may let you.

A normal service takes only 4-5 hours, and if you are waiting there in the launge than it may be be done in 2-3 hours only.

Got the first service done at TAFE Access. I am amazed looking at their dis-oriented approach and poor coverage. On 28th I took the delivery after 1st Service and the following were my observations:
(1) They just wash the car for the sake of it. No under body cleaning...this is very important.
(2) Oil level was higher and they have no idea how much petrol engine needs, 3, 3.5 or 3.8 ltrs.
(3) They fill water and say washer fluid is filled.
(4) Tyre rotation does not include the spare..... just front to back n vice versa.
--------------------------------------------------------
I went a week later to get the first 3 points checked..... was waiting for 3.5 hrs and decided to see for my self... washing bay does not even do a job that the road side tempo washing does. So no question of under body was. When the mechanic checked the oil level it showed just fine.... Crying or Very sad i was checking this for last 5 days and it was way above the max mark. Washer fluid had to be searched in ware house for 30 mins.....
All i got was a free wash for the body., some washer fluid ... I will have to continue with them as I have free services from TAFE.

try Vinayaka in Bangalore , much better than Tafe,.
I got a cold response from Tafe when I visited them before booking Fabia, finally bought from Vinayaka though I did not visit the showroom , except while making Final payment and Delivery.

You can to any dealer as long as the free service offers are from Skoda. I have stopped going to Tafe when they failed to rectify my dashboard rattle problem. They always made funny excuse of technician coming from Aurangabad to have a look at it. It was fixed by Vinayak without much trouble.

I serviced my 1.4TDI Ambiente @ 20,000km at Marikar Cochin. All they did was changing oil and oil filter. After changing oil, the engine feel more smoother. I specifically asked them not to do alignment and balancing. Total I paid Rs 3200 for the service. The last service I did was @ 10,000 and did not had any major issues with the car in between
Made wheel alignment and tyre rotation at my regular place.
