I have a new Fabia Ambiente Petrol less than a week old and from day one, I am facing a peculiar sound when i am applying reverse gear. The sound is similar to what you will get if you were driving in a high gear with a low speed. But I am in reverse and accelerating midlly as expected.

Any body faced this problem earlier?

I am in Noida and puzzled. I informed the dealer, they asked me to come after Independence Day holidays. Will visit them tomorrow perhaps.

the sound was less today. I went to the service center they could hear the sound and examined but found nothing. they said i should drive more and then come back. I have driven less than 300 kms so far.

Hope this vanishes on its own.

If I am not mistaken I have it too. I need to rev a little more while reversing to avoid it. I have had since ages. Some suggested it could be dying clutch but I don't think so. I think it is more to do with the characteristics of the 3 pot engine.
