Off late I am getting a intermittent hissing noise from the left AC vents.
Had topped the Refrigernet Gas in July and changed the O ring seal.
Any idea what is the issue. _________________ Rgds

Hi Pravin,
Just try to clean the AC filter and the noise can reduce considerably. The same thing has happened with me earlier which was resolved by cleaning of filter. _________________ Currently driving - XUV 5OO, Honda Civic, Skoda Fabia, New Swift, Hyundai Santro.

Cleaned the filter in July , so was wondering is it something else.

Hi Pravin,
I've been having the same issue for a few months now. But I find the very mild hissing sound to occur only when driving at a lower rpm. Once my car picks up speed [even as good as 50-60 kmph], the hissing sound is gone [not drowned in the noise, I'm sure].
The sound is also off when a/c is off. But unlike what was told in the link, I think I hear the hissing noise even on blower speed 2 [never used blower speed beyond 2].
Has this problem been solved in your Fabia now? The noise isn't very disturbing for me so I'll have it addressed during my 3rd service or if I visit Vinayak anytime before Jan 1st week.
Cheers

The hissing sound still persists , but its gone down a bit . Probably this noise is due to condensation ,
My observation- If the AC is switched off about a couple of mins before stopping the engine the hissing sound reduces.
If the temperature is over 25 degrees and warm air circulated for couple of minutes before bringing down the temperature also has reduced the hissing noise.
I make a point to follow this practice-
to switch ON the AC first
1. switch on the blower motor
2. set the temperature at desired settings
3. keep the air flow settings on re-circulation
4. switch on the AC.
To switch OFF the AC
1. switch OFF the AC switch.
2. let the blower motor run for 2-3 minutes without the AC ( if the temperature setting is increased it also makes positive difference)
3. switch OFF the blower motor.
Any way I am planning to visit Vinayaka at the end of November. _________________ Rgds

Had been to service center, there is a minute gas leak in the dryer pipe in the Evaporator / Condenser, it’s costing 15000 to change the condenser.
So just topped up gas for 3rd time now in last 6 months, closed the leak with Araldite Adhesive two weeks back, its fine for now, no leaks visible after tests.
If it resurfaces will get the leak closed by Brazing.
So lessons learnt, close the AC 1 km before destination so there is no chance of corrosion due to wet condition in the pipe and then shut of the blower.
Gas is cheap to top up @ Rs 350 Labor is costly @ Rs 1000.
Had a minor wire cut taped near EGR valve as the Exhaust light was glowing in dashboard. _________________ Rgds

Good to know gas top-up won't empty a wallet; seems labour cost will.
