hello all,
glad to inform you all that i have crossed 85600kms and gone for the major service.6th service done at(85050) trichy last week and as per SE advice changed timing belt tensioner unit along with water pump pullies.
what they have done is
1poly v-belt pulley
2.repair kit for tooth
3.v-ribbed belt
4.tensioner
5.gear oil
6.coolant
and regular service
in the 5th service i changed the break set.
the spare tyre that came with the car have never been used so i bought only 3 tyres ( acelere) and that was done when the car was at 58000kms.
and i don't need to change for another 10k kms i hope.
apart from these only the wiper was changed a year back.
if i make a total of all the sevices done so far it may accumulate to one lakh approx..(includes the tyre cost)
5th and 6th were the boosters of this total.
around 16k and 32k respectively.
this car came to me in feb 2010 and never let me down in any manner and it is still like new...please believe me.
i plan to post a video when i cross 1 lakh kms.
and very confident it will be done.
regards

That is quite some drive. My car is closing in on 60k kms and I expect some major expenditure in near future - tyres, battery, bushes etc. It has been very good to me. So far I have spent ~40k on it as maintenance. _________________ Robin |

40k on a car approachin 60k on the odo sounds reasonable but the expense cited above kind of gets my bells alarming. Is it the Fabia or just about any car with the same stature would incur an equivalent damage to the wallet? _________________ The speedway ends at the cemetery. |

Well there are some culprits here ,
First is AC - Rs 3000 spent . there was leakage in the Drier pipe and Vinayak service were not able to analyze the leak , had to to AC gas thrice change O ring , finally was identified after 9 months as Drier pipe leaks was asked to change condensor , when I was told it will cost 15000/- I decided to apply araldite on leak anc check my luck, its been now 9 months and all is fine. Some of the Fabia's over 4-5 years have got the condensor replaced under warranty as it had failed.
Second- I was charged for the Rotors . though it could have gone for another 25000kms. so could have saved this amount also around 3500 Rs.
I have included in service around 6000/- (for Fender) which I paid from my pocket for painting after biker hit the door , insurance told they will cover only the doors and rear portion , wanted a uniform single color for one side.
Another 500 went for hose chewen by Rats, So if you remove these it will be around 37K which I cannot avoid , the 3rd service was 12K followed by 4th around 16K.
So depending on usege its bound to rise over the first two service which was around 5K.
Also its a Diesel car and I have to cover rough bangalore roads crossing 50 speedbreakers every day.
I am happy to spend on these rather than spend on Doctor for my back. I would say for the kind of grind I have to go in travelling 50 kms daily I will not complain as the Fabia has done its job. _________________ Rgds

my car is a diesel one.
the fuel consumption for the kms done is quite astounding.
on an average of 19 to 20 per litre with ac on ...but most of this run in highways.
and one more important thing is even after a long drive say at a strech of 6 to 7 hours you won't find any tiredness......lovely isn't?!
