guys
after 27K km my breakpads got replaced this past monday. (cost me about 4k!!) anyway long story short - after replacement the break pedal play has increased. now i need to really push the pedal down whereas earlier it was much shorter. when i asked the service advisor he said thats because its new (??!) and it will get better. i dont buy that theory.. any experiences here?? am i missing something.
thanks in advance.
have a great weekend.

Hi Nk, am not how much of difference in travel has it made with the new brake pads. But, since the pads are new there could be some difference but it should settle down within 100 kms of driving. If it doesn't than ask them to check with the vaccum cylinder.
Is there any issue with the performance of braking?
If the problem still persist for few more days, show your car to another workshop and get their opinion don't mention like you recently put new pads and all, just tell them the brake pedal travel has increased and your not happy with it.
Let's see what's their response on this.
Cheers. |

hi guys,
sorry for the silence. since my 30K service was coming up i didnt really go back to them right away and decided to wait. so last saturday (9/12) went and got the car serviced and i spoke to them about the breaks. the service advisors still tried to sell me the "new break pads sir, there will be some slippage" story
When i got the car back it was fixed! and it drives much better. so there you go..
thanks and drive safe!

Nice to hear about your problem being resolved.
I was also at Vinayak the same day, getting my brakes cleaned. |

Hi nk,
Its been quite some time that we have heard any thing from you.
Please share some experiances with your car in the recent past. Iam sure you must have come to the stage where you need to change the tyres also.
