I have gone for the summer checkup. It is supposed to involve inspection of A/C system, engine compartment, under carriage and top-up of all oils if required. Here is a checklist I managed to get.

I feel improvement in A/C and pick up. I also got the engine oil topped up for free.

I specifically asked for a brake pad and disc check up and it was found that it required a replacement after their inspection. The part was not available so I had to wait 3-4 days for it. When it arrived the other day I was shocked to know that prices for the brake pad has been increased steeply from this month to approx Rs. 5500 (yes!). But they told me that final price will be known only when it is checked in their computer because the system may still take the old price which is approx Rs 3600. After talking to them for sometime they were kind enough to agree to charge the old prices only Smile The final bill amount for the part they charged was Rs. 3165. Anyway it looks like the prices are increasing whether it's localized part or not.

Plan to go for Castrol Edge engine oil (507 grade) from the 3rd service onwards instead of Castrol Magnatec (505 grade) that every service center are using. Skoda manual clearly says to use 507 grade oil but it seems Skoda India prefer 505 grade to reduce the service costs as the recommended oil is more expensive.

Finally special thanks to the service adviser Pradeep at Vinayak Skoda, he has been very helpful with all my queries.

I had been to Vinayaka last Friday to close the Diesel leak issue, The pipe connecting Engine head was loose, the clamp was not available so a temproray fix was done.
Got AC gas topped up and charged other charges were waived under summer camp inespection.
