Hello All,
Congratulations to all the members of this Fabia club especially Robin, the man behind it and all other seniors who have collectively laid the foundation for this.
Lets grow together by posting all the updates regularly.
Cheers to all

Apparently we have to register our website with the search engines. Which obviously I didn't know till yesterday . I have registered this website now. It will be a while before this starts showing up in the google. |

Hi All,
It is indeed cheer worthy that this low mileage and partially visible website forum has now grown to 100+ members. This isn't an easily visible automotive forum and we're also limited with our advertising options [our members cross post our forum links wherever possible, for Skoda Fabia owners to join us]. In the same breath, it's also important to note how many of them are active members.
As Uneet has mentioned, 47 members are yet to visit the website post joining it to make their first post. I agree there may not be content for posting everyday, but no content to post at all, regarding the car or any experience is a bit surprising..
Robin [admin] and I are looking at ways to revive the forum members and awaken everyone. But there is only so much this free template website can provide, in terms of options, for Robin.
We welcome ideas from active members to see how we can get the not-so-frequenting members to come back and share our space here. Please post in about what you think can be done..
Thanks.

Hi,
I am member and I used to watch our forum on every day basis. But I never written a ownership report. Recent past I took a long drive from Chennai to Madurai to bring my mom (76yrs old ) in my fabia. She absolutely enjoyed a comfortable back seat experience without any problem. I am really enjoyed my trip and the milage was about 15KMPL. I JUST COVERED 3500 on my ODO.
I have a suggestion, Now a days I am seeing lot of Fabia on Chennai road. Why don't we guys can meet and share our experience?
Robin, Ajay.......pls help |

Hi Fabian,
Happy to see your post here and I encourage you to write more often, more varied. Thanks.
Surely it's a good idea to have thought of meeting fellow Fabia owners from Chennai. Our Bangy chapter meets [of whatever we have done so far] has been great and I'm not sure about others, but I've made some excellent friends from the group here. And I'm awaiting to meet even more.
Try to PM, Email whoever you can find is from chennai, on this forum. Take the lead and arrange for a meet and also coordinate it if you can. I presume there must be some other active members from Chennai who might join you in the arrangements. Push for a meet no matter how small the group [even meeting 1 or 2 new members helps build for the next meets].
Also, if you notice more new Fabia owners, you can try doing something I do. Keep a small 'Post-It Notes' pad in your glove box with the entire URL of our forum and paste it on windsheild of newer cars you see. The wordings need to be warm and only welcoming to join the forum for meeting and exploring the fun of ownership amongst like minded individuals of the Fabia. The URL is not an easily identifiable one, so kindly make sure the url is written legibly.
My suggestion for a first meet would be somewhere in the city, like a restaurant or coffee place [adyar, anna nagar, tnagar, besant nagar la nariya options iruku]. Also consider the distance to travel of all attendees and try to arrive at a center point, so no one is discouraged to travel farther [than others] for the 2nd meet and so forth.
[note: our tip is that sunday late noon has been a good time to meet, for those who have until now].
Mainly, you never know the personality of the owners, so the 1st meet can be a light meet-and-greet type with light snacks or coffee/beverages. It's best to avoid a drinks meet for the 1st one. Heck, what do you know;, the 1st meet could probably end up being one of the greatest.
Good luck planning and let Robin or me know if you need any other help. I'd love to and I'm waiting to see a thread with the 1st Chennai meet with lots of info and pics. I wish I could have joined a Chennai meet too, would have been great fun. I miss Chennai. Good luck mate.

Hello Ajay & Robin,
It was nice to see a different layout alltogether.
Your effort to make this website more user friendly and attention to detailing is clearly visible.
Keep up the good work...
Only one suggestion, I discussed this with Robin also the other day, that we really need to have a new web address and transfer this data in the new forum alltogether. |

Uneet,
It sure looks like you're trying the new styles, so we appreciate your support. Thanks. You're a regular Fabiosi here, so obviously we hope you can and will provide feedback on everything new.
Robin and I did are also are considering moving to a self-sustained website with a '.com' or '.org' domain, but it would be discouraging to see our efforts go to vain, unless we have heavy and active participation from all the registered members here. Obviously we're not expecting everyone to log-in everyday or hour, but you are aware how many of us are active here.
We're looking at ways to reviving all members who are currently in an inactive state and get the forum buzzing with regular participation, before we can move to a proper forum website.
Surely we think this is possible and we need everyone's support in getting everyone alive and kicking here first. I pray you agree with us on that.
Thanks

I think we are fighting a tough and a lone battel.
If we are here for the reason of discussing about our passion/beloved Fabis only, than we are in for a lot of limitations.
Firstly it is a bitter fact that Fabia has not sold in huge numbers, so therefore we can't expect lot many members also. Added to the fact as you already said that we need to accept that all will not be active users and nor would they be online also to read the views!
So if you are looking at merelly a club angel than we are doing fairly good, but if you start thinking from a little commercial angel than we have to look beyond FABIA.
What I mean to say is that we should perpare a website (like .com) and make different users club. Ex:
SKODA USERS CLUB:
SUPERB
LAURA
OCTAVIA
FABIA
HONDA USERS CLUB:
ACCORD
CRV
CIVIC
CITY
JAZZ
ETC
This way we will have users of all the cars and the participation will increase immensly.
Mind you this can lead to a new business line all together not competing team-bhp also.
Look forward to your views.

nice to hit the century mark..and if only the participation could be 100% too..
good work from robin and ajay to keep this going. wish our 'General' could be dragged in too. by the robs, i'm still praying that you get loaded with tons of work in August
my fabia is 18 months old now and just a shy away from reaching the 10000Km mark. so far, its been an excellent drive and i've enjoyed each and every moment of the drive. but the prob is that i'm so addicted to driving fabia that i wonder if any other car gives such an involving drive.
so which car for the next upgrade which would give me such a fine driving experience?? i guess its Audi and certainly, i would need to be a bank robber to own one so i think i should keep my fabia for couple of years more.. |
