Škoda Auto at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2010

Skoda India have just had a phenomenal presence at the recently concluded Lakme Fashion Week for Summer 2010. While I entirely don't support or understand Skoda's interests in being associated with a Fasion event, I couldn't be more excited to see YETI being presented and displayed often in 2010. Is it a sign of Skoda telling people it's to debut here soon? I'll be glued to their website, watching....

Here's from their article:

SkodaAuto is delighted to continue its kindred partnership with Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2010. The two being trendsetters in luxurious and stylish design for the lifestyle domain.

Skoda products perfectly unite style and functionality to meet the lifestyle needs of discerning Indian drivers. At the same time, SkodaAuto unique offerings like Boutique Showrooms provide customers with superior services and quality product.

SkodaAuto has had commendable wins with 9 prestigious awards for various categories at The Golden Steering Wheel Awards 2010 by AutoBild India, Overdrive - CNBC TV18 Awards 2010, Bloomberg UTV-Autocar Awards 2010, NDTV Profit – Car India & Bike India Awards 2010, BS Motoring Executive Car of the Year 2010, ET Zigwheels Awards 2009 and TNS Voice of the Customer Award 2009.

This LFW season, the Skoda lifestyle offering - already comprising the All New Superb, the New Laura, Octavia and SuperHatch Fabia – gets even more exciting with Skoda Yeti. Set to be launched on Indian roads later this year. Yeti - India’s first compact SUV; a unique combination of style and substance will be showcased at LFW Summer/Resort 2010.

Man! What are the Skoda guys upto. The 2008 Skoda calendar was sweet and elegant. Talk about 2009 calendar, it has nasty pictures of engine and tyres on the female models head. The pics will suit as witches in a fairy tale book. Those who have seen it will know what I am talking about.

These guys need to de-wormify their mind and start focusing on more serious stuff - like their ever degrading after sales service.

Exactly, Robin. That's what I'm thinking of, too. Why waste time on association with these fashion shows than try to repair lost faith and dwindling sales via fixing their customer satisfaction.

It would be better for the hare brained Thomas Kheul [or whatever his last name is] to focus on improving 1) After Sales service experience, 2) getting customer centric sales dealerships [this of course depends on the kind of contract Skoda sets with new dealerships] and 3) increasing parts localisation content and thus reducing spare price costs.

Then, no customer or prospect would mind where it's director and brand chose to spend their valuable time and Money..
