hi all ,
I am one of the many unfortunate owners of Fabia 1.2 Ambiente which is now one year old , but the car has spent many days almost 25 % of time in the workshop for rectification of various defects . The car has therefore done only 4 K and that too most of it for so called road trials .
The car came back fully certified ok after major changes in parts and infact gave a mileage of 10 km /l in Bangalore city and 16 Km on highways . I was happy but the happiness was short lived . There were breakdowns and one most embarrassing one when over 50 cars piled behind in a U turn . Many occupants came out and walked to me menacingly not knowing that the problem is created by Skoda and not by me . Choicest gallis were thrown at me plus problems from cops .
Ultimately car was pushed to a side .
Now the story is Fuel pump is defective and infact Skoda is changing fuel pumps in all cars on a campaign basis . Should I believe this story . Has any one heard this story ?I would like to have your views plus advice as to what I should do . _________________ Bala |

The fuel pump is being changed. No one from Skoda or dealer called me with that information. When I visited the dealer for some repair work, I asked them whether they are changing the fuel pump, they mentioned that it is is true and though they said they don't have it in stock, by the time I got my car after repair, they said the fuel pump had been changed as well. I was also given a bill mentioning this(it is free, bill is just for information). |

I have not faced stalling or breakdown. Pickup and fuel efficiency have steadily decreased. FE decreased to a level where I got hardly 100KM on 18L of petrol (BP) in Bangalore city. I am hoping that the new fuel pump will improve things. I used to get 12KMPL earlier(though not in city conditions). |
