Recently I joined the Automobile association of southern India (AASI). It is a government recognized body and deals in wide variety of stuff like DL, RTO etc.
Reason why i joined - I had prepayed my loan and wanted the hypothecation to be annulled in my RC book along with address change.
Dealing with the RTO directly is pain in ... well everywhere . I did pay the concerned RTO a visit. Straight away I knew life will not be easy. Touts - not an option as I was not comfortable handing them my original RC book.
Result - Became a member of AASI by paying a lifetime fee of Rs 3500/-.
Last month I gave them my RC book for both the task and by last Friday it was all ready. No visiting the RTO.
How I know about it - My father is a member of AAE(eastern)I for more than 20 years now. I also know about W(western)IAA from my Pune days.
