Hi Friends,

I am Rajan Luthra from Delhi. I'm into Softwares, working in Noida and residing in West Delhi.

I have been through most of the reviews on this blog and finally purchased Fabia Classic Diesel on 1st Jan. This was against the reviews given to me by my friends and relatives and was purely a decision cos of the fact that i was not able to like any other car in this segment after test driving it once.

But, on the first day itself I've faced and issue in Clutch. Most of the times when i press the clutch, its not coming up completely and i've to pull it with my feet.

Please do let me know if anybody has faced such an issue and also some insight on what it could be.

Thanks,
Rajan

Hi Rajan,

Welcome to this forum of like minded peple.

This clutch issue surelly is a manufacturing problem.

You much speak to the service centre immdly and get this rectified under warranty.

@Robin -- Please see if you need to move the "cluth problem" topic to the relavent section.

Hi Uneet,

I did talked to Skoda guys and they said they'll be taking the car to their Faridabad workshop tomorrow. Lets see what happens. But it is really a bad feeling ...sending your new vehicle to workshop within 4 days itself. ...

Thanks,

I can understand the feeling. These are just mechanical components and can fail. I guess it is because the car may be lying idle in the stock yard for some days before delivery, thus drying up grease or something similar.
Hope your problem is resolved without much pain (and do not recur). Keep us posted with updates.

I took my fabia to service station yesterday..Ashia Motors in Faridabad. As it usually happens in such cases, there was no issue when the service guy checked it....Incidentally while i was taking the car there, its almost 50 km from my place...i noticed the problem gradually reducing ..like when i started the clutch was stucking in half and on the way it started stucking around 15-20% lower then where it should be ,,,and by the time i reached it was ok. Ultimately when service guys checked it ..there was no issue found, still they said they have done "Bleeding" of Clutch...dont know what exactly it is but it was something related to removal of air bubbles from clutch line. After this there is no issue as of now. Might not be using the car for 5 or 6 days now..hope the problem doesn't reccur in the meanwhile.

Got a free wash and polishing done with it.....

It was good to know that your problem of the clutch was not serious.
Hope it does not re-occur again.

Sending your car for service station which is 50 kms from your place is quite a lot. Do look for some other options (if any) which are near to your place.

Well after some time the problem came again. This time i was able to see that this problem is occuring whenever I'm stuck in a jam and the car is moving slowly. In this situation we need to make extensive use of Clutch and thats when the failure happens and the pedal sticks in half way or it sticks to the floor completely. Then it needs to be pulled up using your feet. I googled "Clutch sticks in floor" and found similar issues in other cars too but they were majorrly hapenning after 60-65K Kms, not with a new car.

Now my new car, having taken delivery on 1st of Jan is again lying at the service station since 21st of Jan, its been 5 days today and I'm being told that they are not able to diagnose the problem/ solution, though luckily they were able to replicate the problem at there end this time. I've logged concerns on Skoda's website and their helpline too but as of now no resolution. Dealer says its escalated to level 3 service in Skoda, cos the technical guys dealer talked too also were not able to give a solution.
Resolution on Google says changing Master and Slave cylinders of clutch.

Wanted to know, has anybody else faced this kind of issue in a Skoda/Fabia, and what can be my next steps. Can i possibly claim a replacement of vehicle, If yes then how.
Thanks,
Rajan

Hi Robin,

Problem was finally resolved when i took my car to Fahrenheit in moti nagar. They changed the slave cylinder and master cylinder seal i guess, and fortunately after that the issue did not recur again.

Thanks,
Rajan

Good! It was unfortunate to have the problem so early.
Hope your car is running fine now.
