My 1.2 HTP Fabia is due for first service (almost a year now). ODO reading is around 10500 KM.

Anything that I should look for or be aware of?

Can I expect some improvement in engine refinement, fuel efficiency after the service? What has been some of yours' experience. Dealer is Vinayaka, Bangalore.

We already have a detail thread on this somewhere in the Engine Block (I guess). Go through it, you may find it useful.

Gave my car for 2nd service on monday and got back my baby yesterday. There were few recurring li'l niggles of which i had made a detailed list and submitted as a letter to the Service Manager. Surprise of surprise, my letter was clipped along with the service record, recorded to their automated service link with skoda..seems things are changing around in Skoda'a A*S*S..or it might be that they have opened the new 3S facility..whatever, there was a sea change in attitude of SM & Supervisor & entire staff (the same staff with which I've been dealing with for over 2 years now).

Earlier, one needed to stick gun to the SM to make him record our complaints properly. This time, the service order was done properly, shown to me for confirmation and updated to automated system in my presence Shocked The SM also requested that the car may be kept at center for 1 more day till y'day so that they can double check and ensure all issues have been satisfied.

In addition to the recurring issues which i had mentioned through various posts, last week, some issue came up with the locking mechanism. The 'door open' warning kept blinking constantly eventhough all doors were locked. the reading lamp also stood lighted up all time even if key was taken off and i had to keep the battery disconnected for 3 days till i gave it for service.

The problem was diagnosed as of a faulty locking motor and this was replaced under warranty. Pollen filter also got replaced (as per my request - Rs. 592), Oil filter (Rs. 96) and Shell Helix (3ltr*Rs. 902/ltr - Rs. 2706) was my 'purse damage' for 2nd service. The car was polished free of cost as compliment and all the issues listed out in my letter has been solved. 1 hour after i drove off from the service center, i got a call from Skoda asking about the service Rolling Eyes

Pretty satisfied with the service experience this time and i hope they keep this momentum going. If this is the way, the next upgrade would be a Skoda too hehe..

Sorry to hear about the incident.

You can opt for the depreciation-reimbursement add on next time when you have to renew your insurance contract. You get full amount for the glass, plastic and rubber also. Sadly it is available only for cars upto 3 yrs old.
