Trying to help my friend choose a petrol hatchback. He is also considering the smaller hatches but is also keen to consider his options for a premium hatch. His usage will be largely around the city during the weekends and an occasional out of Mumbai trip. He has the new City and this will be the second car. He needs to close the deal by next month.

We have finally shortlisted the Skoda Fabia 1.2 MPI Ambiente VS Hyundai i20 Era.

We are not looking at the Punto and the Micra, these are the finalist sorted as per his preference.

Will really appreciate your opinions, specially the current owners of the new Fabia 1.2 HTP Petrol

The selection depends on various facts.

If u need reliability, go for SKODA, as I believe German engineering is the best in car world.
If u like to get the car inspected/ serviced once in a year go for SKODA.
If u like to get the best interior with lots of gadgets, go for Hyundai.
If u like to get the car show off/ feel like a big one go for Hyundai.
If u like to get space, comfort, smooth control on ride, go for SKODA.
If u like power go for Hyundai.

These are few pros and cons on both, choice is what u like, not what other recommends, check other comments on overall, not in enforcing of buying.

I still did a comparison on i20 sportz to Fab 1.2 Ele.. after a month I decided to buy Fab, to get the comfort, in-spite of getting good interior.

I feel ride quality on both as a driver prospective is almost same, but the visibility area in i20 is cramped. I am not comfortable with that, Fab also has but i20 has the worst.

I like the front look of i20, when it was coming from up-stair of showroom, looked like Honda CRV, what it looks like from exterior doesn't meet the same in interior.

Skoda has a simple gentleman look, enough to give 5 person good comfort, enough to keep ur bags for a long journey.

If coming to engine tech, check that no car is with EBC, all are EBD, which is a good reason on buying German cars, as the all Germans have this for safety. EBD works on wheels, as EBC works on engine. When I got my car, this was the main reason, as I tried to pulll brake on each with a speed 120 kmph, feel that SKODA didn't give a jerk, was smooth in a hard braking.

its my view.. lots more there. so better u go in forum, also search for forums of other who are in comparison in ur sort listed menu. if u need more in minute things, u are welcome to ask.

Other users plz comment..
