Hi,
I drove a Fiat Palio for 10 years and was very happy until the last day, it was very reliable. My driving is 10-15 kms every day in city, rarely long weekend drives. I need a new car now.
I have looked at most cars in the market like Liva, i10, Swift, Figo and I absolutely like the Fabia. This is the new stripped down Fabia Petrol with some discount.
The product is definitely a great finish and worth the money. But I have some doubts and the more I read on internet, the more I get confused. My questions are ( sorry for so many of them) :
1. Is regular servicing for Fabia Petrol expensive as compared to Suzuki or Toyota. Lets compare with SX4 or Corolla i.e oil/filter/etc. For my palio petrol i spent 3-5,000 every visit and there were 2 visits in an year.
2. How expensive are parts like wiper, windshield, fan, ECM, suspension, tail light, fog light, headlight in case they need replacement.
3. Any feedback about Nawab Motors in Noida. For purchase and service.
4. How quick is routine servicing? oil filter change? do they take a day or more?
5. Will Skoda support this model for years to come and provide spare parts
6. Is the car now made in India or has imported parts? ( might help assess the costs)
Please help. My other options would be Liva or Swift but I dont like them as much, would be sad when i would see a Fabia but then its a tussle between head and the heart and dont want a white elephant either.

Fabia is a very nice car, irrespective of the various vibes on the Internet. After driving palio, the over all quality of the other cars mentioned here may seem like downsizing.

A typical service may cost around 5-8,000. But You get it done only once a year or at 15,000 kms - which ever is earlier. Looking at your Palio figures you should be at ease here.

These are now comparable to swift/ i20 . May be slightly on the higher side. In the service section you can find details of the service cost posted by our elite members . Run trough them to get an idea.

4-5 hours. Also depends on the rush at the service centre.

It is selling in decent number. There shouldn't be any worry here.

A lot parts are shared by Polo. VW is trying hard at localisation to keep costs down.

You need to be careful of the dishonest dealers. Read your terms and conditions properly, esp since they are offering discounts now - might pull out something nasty. Get the extended warranty and 0 depreciation insurance policy (read it carefully)- will take care of most of your cost issues. I have heard cases where 0 dep insurance was promised and charged but normal insurance was handed. Basically you should be careful while dealing here.
Being in NCR has advantages. Have multiple dealer to choose from. If you don't like one dealer's service you can also switch to another. _________________ Robin |

Thanks so much. This was extremely helpful. What is 0 depreciation insurance policy?
I will wait to hear from people in Delhi Noida about feedback about Noida dealer.
If someone's buying a Petrol version, we can talk and share whats the offer at this point so that we get the best deal..

Zero depreciation reimbursement is an add on provided by most insurance companies where they reimburse the depreciated cost. For example normal insurance claim will cover only 50 % for the bumper. But In 0 dep. they will reimburse the remaining 50 % too.
So eventually you end up paying only a small amount. Of course their are exclusion here too. But I consider it worth. Skoda has a tie up with Bajaj for extended warranty. Bajaj also has the 0 dep. as add on. This is where you need to be careful of what is being promised and what is delivered. _________________ Robin |

Hi Fabspirant,
NAWAB Motors is a new dealer here covering East Delhi and Noida area after they have scrapped the dealership of Sai Automobiles.
I have not checked Nawab Motors personally but Iam planning to get my next serviced through them as they are quite close to my place.
Will keep you updated.
