|

Hi Team,
I own a Skoda Fabia 1.2 Petrol bought in 2011 jan. Last week i finally changed the stock rims and 14 inch tyres. It is quite difficult to find 14 inches alloys that fits fabia. So upgraded the tyres to 15, still could manage a brand called Power Alloy Wheels. Had never heard about it. But, got the whole thing done at Car Shingar , JC road, who are dependable (I Hope).
Has any one else in the forum used Power Alloy Wheels? Any reviews?
And one more thing. I am getting a mileage of 9 to 10 (before changing the alloys and tyres). is this normal??? Tafe Access, the showroom where i bought the car say that this is normal mileage and that it will increase after 1st service only..
Regards,

I don't have much idea on after market alloys. Did you shift to lower profile tyres on 15 incher?
FE - it will depend a lot on the traffic condition. Test it on a open higway to get a better picture. My city FE varies from 10-12 kmpl, but I don't drive much in bumper to bumper type traffic. _________________ Robin |

Hi Sagar,
Upsizing to 15 inchers won't be a safety or technical issue; it should be fine. However, upsizing 'could' cause in the mileage dipping by 0.5 to 1 kmpl.
Again, this may or may not happen. Depends upon the stock PCD and the PCD of the alloy you have chosen. In my experience, Fabias are not known for mileage, so don't be alarmed when I say don't expect great mileage.
Cheers,

Thanks for your reply.
Yup Fabia is not really know for its FE.. Dont mind it droping by .5 to 1 KM. .any thing more than that is a bit alarming though
I asked the question essentially becoz, Car Srhingar Guy told me that it will not drop at all. He also told that the alloy wheels i got from him are Taiwan made.. (Actually made in Kerala.. Something i realized after buying the stuff http://www.poweralloywheel.com/).
The Alloys are the same 100 PCD 5 holes alloys. So if this does not change the FE .. Than its cool
The Alloy look great though.. This is how they look exactly http://www.mswuk.com/fox/fx004-gloss-black.html. will post more pics later..
