Hi,

I am facing problems with rats, they have chewed up a bit of the black(Cloth) in the engine bay, is there any way for permanent protection, i have put in nafthalene balls and stuck some rat poison in the engine bay, i do have a cat but its of no use, the cat just sees the rat roaming and goes off for a sleep(not bothered, there seems to be an understanding) Evil or Very Mad and the rat bones are of no use either, the rats eat the food and then they push the ratbone's door and it just runs away Mad .(big fat rats)

Any solution for this? i checked @ vinayak soda Bangalore they said they don't have anything like that and told me to check @JC road Embarassed

I am worried that one day if it chews away my cars brake wire or anything else Mad

in previous car i had more problems in Santro(2000 model) fuel pipe goes over the right rear wheel and rodents used to climb over the wheel and has bitten the fuel pipe and i realised this when i was filling in petrol and the petrol was flowing all over, good this is not the same in fabia.

Some of the dealers like Maruti, Tata etc provide a rash mesh, but not sure about skoda dealers. I checked with Vinayak earlier but was not able to get it done.

Last month Rats chew the hose to EGR , I have changed the parking place on a flat concrete side of the road.
Also have put a mortien cake , so far all is fine.
Have to spray Diesel in engine bay (once a week) to keep Rats away.
Napthelene balls are a hazard and can catch fire.
Best is to clean the engine bay every fortnight.

I'm not at all impressed with Vinayak Skoda, Bangalore. They are not technically aware about Skoda. I have seen many instances where they work on 'trial and error' basis in finding solution to problems. Infact, i'm planning to shift to Tafe. Though, i'm not sure about their technical skillset.

Not sure of the technical skills at Tafe, but what is certain is that they are really trying to impress customers these days.

The Mortein cake kept in the engine bay 3 weeks back is missing , with just the thread visible.
This time I have place 2 cakes in Engine bay and sprayed Diesel,
Will check every weekend and see if this is working
