I'm only going to tell you what you already know; keep your secondary key SAFE. And since you're sure the primary key is lost inside of your house, you may stumble upon it anytime in the future.

Skoda Key Fob and new key system, at it's last known price, was Rs. 22,000 for the set [security system + 2 key fobs]. Unless you have an auto insurance policy that covers this, or you're ready to spend as much as that, please ensure safety of your 2nd key.

Others will chip in with better ideas, i'm sure Smile

does my normal insurance of car apply on this issue, and what are the chances of duplicate keys if available locally in the market.

Your normal insurance will not cover this. Tata-AIG provides this option as an add on along with depreciation reimbursement. Ajay has used it extensively, that is why he is bragging Very Happy .

It is unlikely to be available locally as your ECU has to be reprogrammed for the new key (engine immobiliser and all). Moreover it may take 2-3 days min for the whole process.

I would say - sweep every corner of your house and if you have a dog make sure you have scanned it's stomach too Very Happy

I would however like to bring to your attention, Robin, that I haven't used the lost key replacement feature on my enhanced auto insurance policy, yet Razz Wink

I recommend the same steps, if viva1986 is confident the key is lost within the house..
