Has anyone considered installing an armrest for their Fabia? I'm eagerly willing to do this, and am jut looking around whether anyone has experiences to share.

An armrest works like a charm and reduces fatigue on long trips by almost half. Maybe it's a mental thing, but, the drive to Wayanad and back in a friend's Baleno was a lot less tiring than in the Fabia, although in-city driving has been a lot more breeze in the Fabia than the Baleno.

^^ Hi Memphes

My 1.4 fabia came with the arm rest [with attached storage] installed on it [as a feature]. Its very useful on long drives, sure. The in-built storage is also good to store nick-nacks/toll tickets/coins change/etc..

Its useful in the city too, for me. Only time when you find the arm rest to be a problem or a small irritation is when you park your car on an incline/decline and you need to engage the parking brake level to it's fullest.

Apart from this, I've only enjoyed having the arm rest. The one I have also has felt lining inside the in-built storage compartment.

Cheers,
aK

Hi Memphes,

Were you able to add the armrest to your car? I've been looking to add this too, but so far the quotes i'ves got from Skoda are shocking - Rs.14000/-

Cheers,
Aayush.

Sorry Aayush.. Havent done it as it sounded like a birdie to me when I was quoted a similar price at the showroom. I don't understand the exaggerated costs that the Skoda A.S.S. quotes for parts and accessories. Why can't they understand that they have a good market presence now and in order to stay there, they need to address concerns of long-term Skoda owners instead of persuading them to stay away from a Skoda the next time round??!!

Exactly my thoughts!! It's completely inexplicable why their rates are so high.
I do understand that these components are all imported from Cz or Uk, but the company's been here for over a decade, localisation's gotta creep in!
Until then i guess!!

Cheers,

Simply too expensive , if it was in the 5000 range , which i think is a fair price ,premium and all included , i would have jumped at it.
