Please suggest the setup for the Fabia.

It has tweeter pods in the A-pillars.

My query, if we go for an aftermarket stereo, would two channels have to be routed to the tweeters, or we could do with two channels for the front, and two for the rear?

Hi,

I have an after market setup, which includes a front component set (2 side + 2 Tweeters), 2 Rear and 1 Sub.

To answer your query the front side and tweeters would have the same connection and will use 1RC connection on your player.
This means you can have All fronts & All Rear playing at the same time.

Atleast thats the way the components work, coz there's no seperate connection to the rear of the player, it uses only 1RC connection.

If the tweeters need a seperate RC connection, you can get a player with 3RC outs, which will give you Front Side + Front Tweeters+ Rear functionality.
Or another work around is use 2 Y RC to RC plug; to connect both your Front Side and Front tweeters to make it a Single RC connection. This way you can still get a palyer with 2RC outs, or a 3RC out player and add the functionality of a sub, later!!

Cheers,
Aayush.

My query arose because Skoda gives speakers on the front only. And call them four speakers (considering tweeters as speakers).

I am planning to shift my system from my fusion to the Fabia. The HU has three pre outs, four are routed to the front and rear and two to the sub.

So, I was thnking whether I could move the system as it is, or some Jugaad would have to be done for the purpose.

Hi,

I did the same when i moved my system from my Indica. Just had the OEM speakers disconnected and had the system i mentioned above fitted in the fab.

I'm guessing you're moving the Front + Tweeters + Rear & Sub from your fusion, so it'll require you to have the OEM speakers removed (atleast the door speakers) and then have the others fit.

PS - make sure you get this done from someone who knows what he's doing and doesnt cut any wire.

Cheers.

How much damping sheets would be required for the four doors+hatch door?

And tentative prices in Delhi for popular brands?

Sorry buddy, when i had all these fixed it was part of the Rs. 4000 /- the pro charged to fit all my things plus all wiring.

So i', guessing 4k is the range you're looking at!

Cheers

I have all the equipment ready to go into the Fabia.

Noisekill, 40 sq. ft. of it has been ordered from Mumbai, and would reach me on Tuesday. So, one full day would go towards installation.

Install would happen at Sector 16, Noida,

The equipment list:

Front: Illusion Lucent LM6.1
Rear: Not getting a good set, but temporarily, JBL GTO 507
Sub: Stereo Integrity MagD2V4 (sealed)
Amps: For Lucents: JBL GTO 0604 (Bridged)
For Sub: Panasonic PA2003Y
Wiring: Tsunami and Illusion.

The installation was done at Sector-16, Noida on 4th May, 2012.

All of the 40sq. ft. of noisekill was used, very lavishly for all doors, including the boot. The wheel well also appeared to be a well as far as applying noisekill went.

Boy, oh boy.

The installer didnot have the proper gauge wire with him, so a compromise had to be made, affecting the quality of sound.

The sound is not even a fraction of what it used to be in the Fusion.

I have got hold of 25mm havell's wire, and have ordered for a distribution block, and am hoping to give the ICE a shape on coming Monday.

Meanwhile, I have put the illusion luccents for sale, as am thinking to change the sound pattern in the car, and listen to something different now.

Will keep you all informed.

Finally, installed head unit and speakers successfully after a big struggle...

Installed JVC KW R500 double din music system with front Diamond D1 component and polk oval speakers at the rear. added JBL amp JBL GT5-S644 to drive the speakers. Sound clarity is good cant compare with the stock system. planning to instal INFINITY BASSLINK a compact sub woofer with built in amp in a month or two.

Three months back , in July I had Infinity Kapa speakers installed on front doors and moved the stock to rear doors.
No Sub and no amps as I use Cowon PMP J3 using aux in, the sound was much better than stock speakers. I am not fan of High bass so did not go for subs.
I bought a Bandridge 3.5mm audio cable and since then there is a big improvment in output.
I had put 2 sheets of dampners at time of installation of speakers and vibration is out. I was told installing sound dampners on complete door is of little use , rather have 2-3 sheets doupling up on the speaket and door contact area does trick and saves money,
