Hi,

I own a Fabia ambiente (Feb 2011 model). I had a minor accident last week. The front bumper is damaged and needs to be replaced.
Your inputs will help me immensly in taking a decision for replacement.

1) Have anybody got their front bumper replaced of late? If yes, what was the cost involved?

2) Any idea whether the Fabia spare parts / accessories are available outside the dealer network?(Any shops in Bangalore?)

3) Will the insurance cover the entire cost of replacement and labor?(Currently i have the comprehensive Tata-AIG insurance)

Thanks in advance for your suggestions Smile

Regards,
Sandeep

Do you really think you need to replace the front bumper?
Once by mistake I ran over the foot path, while taking it back the life side of the bumper came out with the screws and the iron connector got bent. I got it fixed for Rs 2.5K from local guy in kanakapura road. He did complete re-painting to the bumper matching to the body color.

If you have insurance (Bumper to bumper) then get it done from skoda service center.

Bumper replacement should cost you in the range of 8-10k including the painting and labor.

If you have zero depreciation add on for your insurance then you just have to pay a co-pay amount of 500-1000/-

If not then you may have to pay upto 40-50% of the cost.

Being in Bangalore you can take Rudy's help for outside service. I think they will do the job in front of you. With service center you may have to be without car for a few days.

Might be late but this is the latest cost.

Bumper cost [old model or new face lifted model] - 10000 + tax
Removal and re-fixing bumper - 450 + tax
Painting cost - 3500K + tax

expect some more labour + misc exp to be added..

Hi,

I finally got the front bumper replaced @ Vinayak Skoda, B'lore. They've done a neat job. However, they took a week's time for it. Luckily, i had Bumper 2 Bumper insurance from ICICI Lombard and they covered the expenses, around 12K.
