Hi Guys,
Sadly the Fabia production has been closed in India due to poor sales and service, but we will have one of the rarest cars going ahead and this is something to feel good about.
On the other hand hopefully we should not have any problems with the spares as there are similar cars from Skoda and VW with the same specification (Scout and Polo).
Hopefully the New Fabia which might be released in the forthcoming years should be back to India.

That is a sad news.
The PD engines may have spare parts problems as that is not shared by any other car.
Scout will still be on sale? Who is buying it. _________________ Robin |

Hi Robin,
I think it would be great if you can set up a section for selling, buying fabia parts etc in the forum and parts which other would like to give away for free, this should be helpful for other members also. |

Yes there are delays in Getting the spares of PD engines BNM series, I wanted to replace a plastic pipe for outlet from Turbo.
Later I put a clamp and the old part is working fine.
Probably we may need to a preventive maintainance like changing all rubber hoses after 6 years or so to have a piece of mind.
Now with the car nearing 5 years I am checking the engine bay frequently for any possible issues
I had a discussion with the skoda mechanic when I was at my home town , he told its easier to maintian the old generation Fabia both petrol and Diesel compared to new upgraded ones _________________ Rgds

Why does he think that? _________________ Robin |

Santosh,
(good to be writing after many moons, yes) The actual reason the Skoda stopped producing the Fabia was because they were taking a loss on the vehicle, selling it lower than cost price. It hurt their already limited profits badly and thus had to pull the plug on the vehicle (similar to Honda Jazz's fate).
Skoda will surely realise the need for a volumne player and a premium hatchback (we were early adopters and today there are people willing to play close to 10L for a Hyndai i20, imagine) and they will most likely come out with one in the future, is my guess.. _________________ Peace precedes Prosperity.. |
