Let me share a useful feature of fabia with all. During this monsoon, it seems some water went in the control buttons of window and the driver side window opens and close by itself while driving. Also sometimes the window glass can not be closed with the button after parking(imagine leaving the car with windows open). If this happens, there is a solution if you cant go to service center immediately. Use the key to lock the door and keep turning the key anticlockwise and hold in that position the window glass will go up. I believe it is anticlockwise, as I am away from home now, cant double check the direction to turn the key.
Also another thing is(which is not mentioned in the manual), there is an additional chamber in the fuel tank which can take another 7-8 lit of diesel. It happend to me once, while filling diesel, it took 53lit before the tank got full. I normally wait till the tank is almost empty and then fill up. I always fill up from this particular gas station and they are very reputed in Kottayam and one of the 4 gas stations in India which is connected online with HP office in Delhi 24x7. But I got suspicious and took a bill and complained to HP, it become a big issue and HP personne come and checked the pump and found nothing wrong. Then I read in an european fabia discussion forum a very similar incident and that guy mentioned about this additional chamber feature. To fill in that chamber, you have to press and hold the black button(the air escape vent I guess) in the top part of the fuel tank while filling. Normally the tank capacity is 45lit. In that instance I drove 1000 plus kilometers before refuelling and withdrew the complaint with HP.
If anyone find out anything similar useful tips, please share in the forum.

Hello John,

I remember discussing both these hidden features in TBHP also.

These are indeed very useful features which are not there in any other car of this segment.

The extra chamber in fuel tank your talking about is the vaccum chamber or air chamber. I suggest you fill it as the recommended mark. The vaccum chamber contains the certain amount air, to avoid it from overloading the tank and can give you a correct reading on the fuel meter in your instrument cluster. Releasing of air and filling the fuel will aid misreading and the fuel meter will not be accurate.
I learnt this when in the beginning, last year I made a trip to Mum-Nashik-Pune-Mumbai. While I was at the General Store at the pump my driver filled up the tank, when I checked the bill it said 52Lts. I checked with the guy at the pump they did the same thing that you mentioned. Anyways, on my way back on reaching to Mumbai, I saw the low fuel warning light coming up even though my car was not reserve. I kept having this problem for a month until I decided to get it reset.
My advice don't use the vaccum space for that extra fuel at the cost of other issues.

Invincible,
I am not sure whether it is air chamber or vaccume. Normal fill ups the diesel doesn't go in that chamber. I dont fill in that chamber, it accidently happend. I post it here, only to let all know that if something similar happens don't blame the petrol pump guys directly, there is such a possibility too. In my case the gas station guys had to run through lot of difficulties to prove HP that nothing was wrong with their pump. I felt sorry for them for my complaint.
Also if you go for a long drive, you can fill in that chamber if you dont want to fill from strange pumps. I always fill from one pump or oil company's own pumps. Always uses premium diesel. Some small towns sometimes it is difficult to find premium diesel.
