I am starting a new topic for service reports, everyone can add their service experiences here, so we have one place to look at.

I had given my car for the 3rd paid service yesterday, recieved it today got EGR valve cleaning, Service, monsoon checkup and wheel alignment and balancing done, I also got one hub logo replaced and stuck with glue, which was stolen, the total cost incurred : Rs. 10,479/- which included diesel filter change, oil filter, oil, coolant. this seems pretty decent considering, we pay 10,500 for the swift D every 5000km.

the service was done at autobahn, Mumbai

The car really feels different, I suggest everyone should get the EGR valve cleaned every 10000km atleast, if not every service.

A new post is a good idea. Can you please put the break-up of the invoice in detail? It will be a good reference.

"MANSOON" Checkup : Free
1 paid service : 950
2 V.A.S. Insp. : 500
3 wheel alignment : 900
4 wheel bal : 500
Total : 2850
ser tax : 285
edu cess : 8.55

Bal weights : 3 x 150 450
oil filter : 375
diesel filter : 1372
screen wash 89
bulb : 48
wheel cap (small) : 400
engine oil : 884 x 4 = 3536
total : 6270

consumables: 250
vat: 815

total : 10,479

I don't think ill get alignment and balancing done again from the service centre.
They have given me some leaflet which says diamond cover, but I don't understand head nor tail of it, ill call them and ask what that is.

I am also going in two weeks back to the workshop to get some settings done in the VAG system, for locking and power windows, they say there are 7 settings in the fabia which can be user defined, sounds nice.

Pranav I'm glad you feel the difference. And ya the cost is not bad at all. 10.5K will always be steep compared to petrol cars but than again it's a diesel and one has to always pay something for the advantage of torque and mileage one enjoys with it.
Very soon you will notice the difference in your mileage too with the help of EGR valve cleaning.
Next time you get your service done I would suggest to get your intake manifold cleaned too by removing it and manually. This could add little more to the cost but it's gonna be worth it for sure. And ya engine decarbonisation is a must I suggest.
Pls report to us your feedback after a week or so on your mileage and pickup difference after EGR valve cleaning.

Cheers! Smile

I am very happy with the reduction in noise and vibration, it sounds like an octavia now Laughing The last full tank gave me about 650km, so that was around 17, which is not bad, expecting 18 now. will post it here soon !
Thanks for the advice on EGR valve cleaning, next service will be de carbonising and intake manifold cleaning.

BTW, I have learnt a new feature of the car, if you park on the side of the road, and take the keys out, you can start only the roadside pilot lights by turning the indicator stalk in the direction of the lights that you want, very thoughtful feature.

Ah! it is for that. I once took a turn and parked, took out the key and locked the car, not realising that inticator light was still not in its neutral position. It was bright day so could not see the lights glowing. I noticed it only in the evening after 6 hours. I have beening cursing skoda all along for this, obviously not knowing the advantage Smile.

This happened to me too. But the warning sound comes on right? So is it a feature or a reminder to switch off the indicator?

Avoid wheel balancing and alignment at the dealer. Most of them do a horrible job. Insist on taking delvery the same day. Inspect the car properly at the time of delivery, esp for the lug key if you have one (I guess classic model does not have that).

Guys, my car has started showing the "time to service" and "kms to service" in the trip meter. I had got my car serviced in Feb at 8600 km. It is now at 13000 km. It seems the service guys didn't update these. I tried resetting my self without sucess. Will it cause any problem or I need to get it reset?

Hi Uneet,
Bought last July end.
I thought it will be good if the Engine oil is changed , as this will remove any dirt from wear of moving parts.

Apart from this what comes in the first service.
Also milage is around 11.5 , I was told it will increase after 1500 kms...

Lets see,

Bye

Pravin -- yrs is a diesel or petrol?

First service includes change of engine oil and oil filter. Cleaning of AC filter and general routine checking.
Yrs must be petrol bcoz the diesel one gives more than 14 in city driivng.

The normal milaege for petrol is around 11-12 km/l, which should get better a bit after first service.

I got my Fabia Diesel serviced today @ 9977kms.

total bill came to 4700/-

breakup of the bill

Filter : 376/-
Distilled Water : 22/-
Engine Oil : 2850/-
Windscreen Washer : 104/-
Diagnosis Log chrges : 150/-
Misc. Consumable : 150/-
Wheel Alignment : 400/-
rest all VAT and Service charges
----------------------------

Overall worst service experience I have ever had in our vehicles as expected. Skoda actually does not know what after sales service is all.
It needs minimum 10 phone calls to get the things working.
and yes I am not cribbing about charges, Its about sheer lazyness/carelessness they have while dealing with customer.

Will post about car's performance after service after some day's driving.
but the feel good factor I get while I am in car is worth all the pain

Looking at the bifercation, it seems that you have been charged less for Engine Oil. Normally they are charging around Rs. 4000/- only for Oil change here in Delhi.
