HI Guys,

Recently while i was traveling i have noticed that when ever i go over a hump or a set of multiple humps and throttle while i cross the first hump the rpm goes a bit up and down and i feel the jerks, is this common?? Is it because of traction or something i am unable to identify this? Rolling Eyes

I am assuming you were in 1st gear. It is normal. the ECU adjusts the rpm to avoid stalling and hence the jerks. The first gear is rarely smooth in any car.

I avoid it by pressing the clutch completely till the humps are crossed.

Yes i was in the 1st gear while crossing the hump, will keep in neutral while crossing the hump thanks for the info, I find this kind of issue does not come up in my hyundai I10, strange but let me check again.

Or it could be also because of increase of speed while going down the hump - increasing the rpm. while going up - decreasing the rpm due to decreasing speed. simpler logic Very Happy

Different cars will behave differently. I have driven the Dzire and A star , both having a more jerky first gear in general - a maruti style may be. Haven't tried on the rumble hump though.
