HI Guys,
Recently while i was traveling i have noticed that when ever i go over a hump or a set of multiple humps and throttle while i cross the first hump the rpm goes a bit up and down and i feel the jerks, is this common?? Is it because of traction or something i am unable to identify this? |

I am assuming you were in 1st gear. It is normal. the ECU adjusts the rpm to avoid stalling and hence the jerks. The first gear is rarely smooth in any car.
I avoid it by pressing the clutch completely till the humps are crossed. _________________ Robin |

Yes i was in the 1st gear while crossing the hump, will keep in neutral while crossing the hump thanks for the info, I find this kind of issue does not come up in my hyundai I10, strange but let me check again. |

Or it could be also because of increase of speed while going down the hump - increasing the rpm. while going up - decreasing the rpm due to decreasing speed. simpler logic
Different cars will behave differently. I have driven the Dzire and A star , both having a more jerky first gear in general - a maruti style may be. Haven't tried on the rumble hump though. _________________ Robin |
