I dont think so , the readings are incorrect , one never gets high milage for the first 3000 kms till engine run in is done.

Anything over 11kms for the new petrol engine is a bonus , even polo has same milage.

Admin is the expert , missing on duty Very Happy

I think it is the real time fuel consumption figures which shouldn't be impossible. Does it also show the average consumption for the trip?

I have been able to max 19. recently over a stretch of around 300 kms (tank full to tank full). But my car was closing 30k on odo then.
I was out on a trip to Udaipur. The trip FE was 17+ for ~ 2500 kms

Pravin sir, I am sorry. I have been traveling a lot recently. Have yet to recover from jet lag.

I will be driving a A-Star from Delhi a Bangalore soon. Will let you guys know how it fares in the FE dept. I am sure it will better Fabia's FE, but by what margin? Similar road, same driver, same driving style, similar load... lets watch.

The replies looks like an escalation mail, rather comment.

Anything here we all write, depends on calculation what the ECU gives, other than this I don't have any gauge to calculate.

Can anyone tell me, where its written that below certain KMS in odo, the vehicle should give a certain range of kmpl ??

A good driver can manage to get the optimal kmpl, recommended by company.

Mine is for the one scenario, i had told, thats was for testing, as I charged company.

About Polo, on the day of delivery of my friends POLO, I drove 295 kms, got a mileage of 22kmpl with full ac on on the month August 2010. Its a Diesel 1.2 machine.

Fabians who have old 1.2 petrol engines would be more keen to know the milage offered by the current ones.
If there is a significant increase in milage experienced by those who have bought the cars over the past 4 months since launch is good news.
Please share your views on this as the older lot of 1.2 petrol Fabia gives milage between 9-11 kms / ltr in city conditions , there are also some unhappy owners due to the low milage.

Similarly the ones who own 1.4TDI Diesel are keen to know about 1.2 TDI though its clear the milage of 1.2TDI will be atleast 20% more than the old engines in city driving conditions.

I am sorry for the confusion. Most Fabia's don't have the ECU FE meter and so we rely on the tank full to tank full method. In long term you get a fair idea of your car's FE. Moreover the ECU readings aren't the most reliable (me thinks). It will be a favor to us if you could post the FE based on tank full method. That way I'll be able to compare it directly with my FE.

Whatever FE you are getting now, expect it to improve in the coming days as your engine beds in Smile

Good going.

Sure Boss.

I do keep record of fuel tank as well as ECU FE.
ECU is for let 50 kms, but fuel tank for a full top-up

And I learnt from my driving that, as I my driving style is jerky so I got less mileage, and if steady in between 50 to 60, then getting unbelievable mileage.

The Old Ambient model had ECU FE. And most of users here use the Ambient prior to 2010 DEC.

Oh no. My car is July 2008 Amb. It does not have one Sad

Am I the only one?

I think only the elegance model had it.

I have been quite busy these days. Using my car lot in the city (relative to my standard of less than 4kms a day Smile ). Travelled quite a bit on E-city flyover and Nice road. The FE for last too fills have been between 12-13 kms/l, up from 10-11 km/l earlier. Not surprising, eh!

My car has now crossed 36,000 mark.

Congrats Raj. 1.6 should be a good one to drive. Your FE is pretty good too.

Figures for the current refill:
640 kms / 38.4 lts = 16.67

Don't be surprised. I did a trip to Ooty on the weekend. I have driven to places but somehow Ooty had eluded me so far (closest hill station from Bangalore but still ...). Ooty checked Smile .

What else is cooking - wild life of MP, desert of Rajasthan ( Udaipur and Chittaurgarh checked), back waters of Kerala , Kutch and HP .
