I too have an ambiente petrol version dec 2011. In this case of auto lock doorsarelocked once ur vehicle reaches speek of 20KM/hr. Once locked the doors cannot be opened from outside but any once from inside can open it even after being centrally locked. |

Yup that is correct; as long as you have not switched the child lock option on the side of the doors that is.
The Doors will still open from inside even after locking via central locking or speed over-run.

Hi, the car will lock all doors (from outside) after it crosses 15Km/hr approx.

Overrun speed is when the car is in excessive speed, the doors get locked from inside. Please check the fabia brochure. |

Hi,
As far as the skoda fabia manual says, the car doors dont lock from inside (except if child locks are enabled on the rear doors and safe securing while locking the car from outside) and overrun speed has been indicated as approx 15km/hr. Even the brochure as per the image i've attached in a previous post mentions auto locking of doors.
So i'm sure that the doors dont lock from inside, otherwise the manual would've specified that.
Its a welcome feature though, coz i'd like to have my doors locked from inside, but Skoda thinks otherwise *read* safety measures!!
Hey if you can attach an image of some info you've found would be great!!

Hi,
I remebered the sales guy saying like that but here are the links, but i do not see an explanation for the overrun stuff:

http://www.netcarshow.com/skoda/2011-fabia/
http://www.ecardlr.com/newcar/Skoda/Fabia/1.2-Ambiente-Petrol.aspx
http://www.skoda-auto.co.in/IND/Documents/CataloguesPDF/Fabia-Leaflet.pdf
Probably the only way to test is to try it out |

I was doing 140 yesterday!! Actualy thought of trying to open the door, but totally rejected that thought...safety first man!!
But totally would love to have this feature enabled if it's available coz when i had the lock all doors after 15km/hr enabled on the VAS at skoda, there wasnt any other locking feature on the list, as far as i remember.
Whatever it is drive safe buddy!! and may be try it as well!! lol _________________ When Cars are in your DNA you get This!! |
